While growing up in Seattle, WA, I began working as a tutor in high school. When I graduated high school, I attended the University of Washington as a math major. As I continued on through college, I volunteered at several high schools as a tutor. In addition, I worked in human resources for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). When I graduated with my bachelors degree in Mathematics, I became a human resource specialist. I then moved to Los Angeles, CA. In 2009, I taught a Film Math course at the Columbia College of Hollywood and it was at that time that I realized that I wanted to become a teacher. I went on to receive my master's in education from California State University, Los Angeles in 2012 and I student taught at Stern Math and Science School.
