Drew Lewis teaches treble choir, mixed chorus, vocal jazz ensembles, music theory and vocal techniques at Ramon C. Cortines. Prior to working here Mr. Lewis taught music at Kirby School in Santa Cruz for ten years. He received his BA in music education and California Single Subject Teaching Credential from Bethany University and his Master's Degree in Choral Conducting from California State University Los Angeles.He is frequently sought out as an accompanist for multiple honor choirs in California and also as a pianist and music director for community and professional theater productions. He also sings in a variety of choirs and has had the opportunity to sing with Dawn Upshaw, Marvin Hamlisch, and Ben Folds. In 2010 he received the Outstanding Music Educator Award for the Central Coast Section of California’s Music Educators Association (CMEA). He is a member of the American Choral Director’s Association (ACDA). He has also served on the board of CMEA's Central Coast Section for the last nine years and was Central Coast President from 2012-2014. Currently he is President-Elect for the Southern California Vocal Association (SCVA). Drew's hobbies include traveling, where his adventures have included everything from bungee jumping in New Zealand to attending music festivals in Sweden. His favorite city to visit is New York.
